We have definitive ideas about all aspects of the investment process. Our thoughts are in agreement with widely recognized market principles. We manage the process consistent with our personal beliefs about the matter. We developed our views from our firsthand experience; study of the writings of Warren Buffet, John C. Bogle and McKinsey & Company; and our coursework in business school. At JBT Corporation, we played meaningful roles in the acquisition of domestic and foreign businesses worth $250 million. Indeed, we learned from our roles in acquiring them. But, we learned even more from our day-to-day management responsibilities to integrate 5 businesses into a 2 global businesses under a common brand platform. In addition, we learned from investing close to $50 million in Research & Development projects.
