Motivation
We have ample sources of motivation to pursue excellence in our new business venture.
- We like the day-to-day activities that developing a business to its full potential entails: leading a team in pursuit of common goals, developing a new innovative service to the marketplace, closing a sale, etc.
- We want to build organizations that are representative of our philosophies, values and experiences.
- Business plays to our competitive nature. We perceive work as a contest for a customer's business, an investor's capital, and an employee's services. The results of the contest can be measured objectively with clear winners and losers. We like to win and absolutely hate to lose.
- To acknowledge the big "white elephant" in the room, we like an incentive compensation system that rewards long-term value creation. We are not shy about expressing our desire to make money.
