Diversity

A diverse organization is a more able one.  We have learned its importance from working in expatriate positions in management roles in France, Turkey and Sweden; management positions in all functional areas of an industrial organization; and industrial and professional service firms, big and small, with distinct cultures.  In addition, we have learned from leading innumerable strategic and managerial processes.

The importance of diversity influences our behavior.  We fight the human tendency to surround ourselves with like-minded indviduals.  Our goal is to develop a complementary team.  We recruit individuals with diverse skill sets, experiences, educations, etc.  We emphasize employee communication so our cohorts have the information to contribute fully.  We believe many of the best ideas come from the lower ranks of the organization, and we want to take full advantage of everyone's ideas.  We place a lot of importance on putting employees in positions and ad hoc roles that take advantage of their capabilities.

The ultimate measure of success of our efforts in diversity is the overall performance of the business.  Diversity for the sake of diversity alone means little to us.
